Each year at the OSCP meeting there is a lot of discussion revolving around communication. Invariably the potential of the web site is cited as a solution to many of the problems. Unfortunately the individuals who could post content here do not. We probably need to do an analysis of the reasons this site is not used more routinely by the membership. The Quebec association has a private to members section and a public section. I think that we should take this route so that we can increase our public profile on the web and still have profession specific discussions and resources available to the membership alone.

There is some renewed interst in professional development that everyone should participate in. Do you think we should add every mebers e mail address to our list? let'shear form the executive on this one.

Do you think that we should enter the entire e mail list of OSCP members for this site or should it continue to be a voluntary sign up?

The recent international consortium meeting in Montreal was a great success. There were several excellent presentations by perfusionists, surgeons, anesthetists, IT specialists and others from Canada.The CSCP is a supporting member of this group that has as its objective developing evidence based guidelines, promoting the integration of these guidelines into practice, identifying gaps in the literature, encouraging research and evaluating improvementss related to adoption of these guidelines.The web site is www.icebp.org
